Now, that should raise a HUGE red flag, right? I mean, c’mon. Real gold ain’t cheap. I saw somethin’ about water resistance and ATMs, which is totally off-topic but kinda makes sense ’cause some watches *look* waterproof but then you wash your hands and BAM! Fog city inside. Learned that the hard way, lemme tell ya.
Anyway, back to the Walmart gold situation. There’s this thing about “risk of fakes being low” if it’s sold by Walmart. Hmm. I’m not entirely convinced. I mean, Walmart’s a huge marketplace. They got third-party sellers. It’s like a Wild West of discount goods sometimes. And then there’s the coin thing… someone mentioned in one of the snippets “Is Walmart REALLY Selling Fake Gold and Silver Coins online?” That’s… worrying, to say the least. If they’re selling fake coins, what’s stopping ’em – or rather, their third-party partners – from slingin’ fake watches?
Honestly, I saw someone sarcastically say “Walmart is my go-to place to buy a Rolex.” *ROFL*. As if! That’s hilarious. But seriously, if you’re expecting a Rolex for under a hundred bucks, you’re gonna be sorely disappointed.
The thing is, some of these watches are probably just cheap *looking* gold-tone watches. Nothing wrong with that, per se. If you want some bling on a budget, go for it. Just don’t kid yourself that you’re rocking something of actual value. Someone mentioned a “GEORGE” brand watch. Never heard of it. Sounds… affordable.
